Jobbik congratulates Austrian patriots for the result achieved in the presidential election

Jobbik Movement for a Better Hungary regrets to be informed that, despite the expectations and the dedicated work of Austrian patriots, Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) candidate Norbert Hofer could not accomplish the final triumph in the presidential election, albeit by a narrow margin.

Although Norbert Hofer could not win this time, Jobbik still considers last weekend’s presidential election as a historic event for Austria as well as for Europe’s political sphere. This was an election where the forces of the 20th century were dropped out as early as in the first round, thus demonstrating the Austrian people’s need for a genuine change.

The marginal difference between the results of Van der Bellen and Hofer shows that the patriotic option is viable and a significant share of Austria’s citizens considers FPÖ as the power that can lead their country. We hope that we can congratulate them for their victory after the next elections.
